Nice Software is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect across our products, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. This policy applies to all Nice Software applications including SlowRead, Studio Matter, Wax & Pigment, NotaBill, NotaTime, Invoice PDF, and any other products or services we offer.

What We Stand For

Nice Software creates thoughtful tools for focused work. Privacy is a core principle of our design philosophy. We believe:

Information We Collect

The data we collect varies by product, but generally includes only what is necessary to provide functionality:

  • Application Data: Content you create within our apps (reading lists, designs, invoices, time entries, etc.). This data stays on your device by default.
  • Device Information: Basic information about your device needed for app functionality (device type, operating system, app version).
  • Crash Reports (Optional): Only if you explicitly enable them. Reports help us fix bugs but contain no personal data about you.
  • Cloud Sync Data (Optional): If you enable cloud sync (via iCloud or similar), your data is synced to your personal account. You control whether this is enabled.
  • Contact Information (Optional): Only collected if you contact us for support.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the services you use:

  • Store and display your content on your device
  • Enable sync across your devices (if you enable it)
  • Fix bugs and improve app stability
  • Respond to your support inquiries
  • Display widgets and notifications you've configured

We do not use your data for marketing, analytics, targeted advertising, or any other purpose beyond providing the services you use. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Data Storage & Cloud Sync

Local Storage (Default): All application data is stored locally on your device by default. You have full access to and control over this data.

Cloud Sync (Optional): When you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted and stored in your personal cloud account (iCloud, Google Drive, etc., depending on the product). Nice Software does not have access to your synced data. You control this setting entirely.

Backups: We recommend regular backups of important data. You can export your data at any time from our applications.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not track your behavior or usage patterns
  • We do not use analytics about how you use our apps
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not create user profiles or accounts on our servers
  • We do not use your data for profiling or targeting
  • We do not use cookies for tracking
  • We do not monitor your activity without your explicit consent

Your Rights & Data Control

Access: Your data is stored on your device and fully accessible to you at any time.

Export: You can export your data from our applications at any time in standard formats (PDF, CSV, JSON, etc.).

Deletion: You can delete any or all of your data at any time through the app or by removing the app from your device.

Data Portability: Exported data is yours to use with any service you choose.

Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's security features. If you enable cloud sync, data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We recommend:

  • Keeping your device software up to date
  • Using a strong device password
  • Enabling two-factor authentication on your cloud account (if using sync)
  • Reviewing privacy settings in our apps regularly

Third-Party Services

Nice Software products may use the following third-party services:

  • Cloud Services: iCloud (Apple), Google Drive, or similar for optional sync
  • Operating System Services: Widgets, notifications, and other OS features managed by Apple, Google, or Microsoft
  • Email Support: Support inquiries sent to hello@nicesoftware.xyz

We do not use analytics services, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or behavioral tracking services.

Children's Privacy

Our products are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where applicable, through the app or email. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
